IGCC October Member Meeting

12.25pm – 1.30pm AEDT
2.25pm – 3.30pm NZDT

Please join us for the next IGCC member meeting at 12.30pm, Wednesday 13 October 2021. We will be joined by special guests H.E Dr Michael Pulch, the Ambassador of the European Union, and Senator Andrew Bragg, Liberal Senator for New South Wales, to discuss COP26, and how we intend to engage with investors, policymakers and the Federal Government in the lead up to the November event.

We know investors struggle with the current climate policy uncertainty in Australia due to the lack of Paris-aligned targets and policy frameworks, creating a major barrier to investment in the clean industries and climate solutions we need.

We’re calling on all political parties to make clear commitments to:

  • Net zero emissions by 2050
  • Stronger 2030 emissions reduction targets with clear transition policies for each segment of the economy
  • Commitment to phase in mandatory climate-risk disclosures to match best practice and support unlocking trillions in private capital looking for green investment opportunities in Australia

We are in a critical time for climate policy in Australia. These decisions will determine global emissions and financial security for the next decade, if not longer. IGCC is calling for stronger Paris-aligned commitments from the Australian Government, or risk capital flight.

Please join us for this special COP-themed member meeting, where we will be sharing the opportunities for investors to get involved in the lead up to COP26.
