Submission: Climate Active reforms increase rigour of voluntary climate action

IGCC welcomes the objectives of proposed reforms to the Climate Active program, which aim to set a credible benchmark for voluntary climate action.
By discontinuing use of the term ‘carbon neutral’ to describe the certified claim, and placing emphasis on emissions reductions over carbon offsetting, the initiative will more closely align with company investor and stakeholder expectations that prioritise the implementation of credible decarbonsiation strategies aligned with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5oC.
