The energy mix continues to evolve at varied pace across the globe. Traditional energy producers are beginning to compete for shrinking demand in established markets, a trend expected to continue with updated NDCs due next year. Oil, natural gas and LNG producers remain optimistic that global energy needs, including the desire for energy security, warrant sustained production and the slow pace of change in their portfolios toward new, zero-carbon energy products. So does this demand narrative stack up? And who is best placed to secure supply contracts in the race to the bottom?
Josh Runcimen, Lead Gas Analyst from the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis will speak to IEEFA’s outlook for Australian Oil and Gas, Emeritus Professor Purnendra Jain from the University of Adelaide will provide insight into Japan-Australia trade relations and, Jonas Rooze, Head of Sustainability & Climate Research at BloombergNEF will zoom out on these questions and speak to BNEF’s latest New Energy Outlook.
