IGCC November Member Meeting: VC/Dial in
November 11 @ 12:25 pm - 1:30 pm| Free
Australian and New Zealand investors are increasingly mainstreaming their climate change responses by applying dedicated net zero investment strategies and targets to portfolio-wide and specific asset classes over and above responsible investment offerings. The 2020 IGCC Net Zero Investment Survey captures recent investment trends for Australian and New Zealand investors.
Australia would also create $63 billion in fresh investment opportunities over the next five years by strengthening climate targets and policies in line with reaching net zero emissions by mid-century. In analysis recently commissioned by IGCC – Mapping Australia’s Net Zero Investment Potential – under this scenario private investment in Australia would accelerate out to 2050, with hundreds of billions of dollars in opportunities created across renewable energy, green hydrogen, manufacturing, electrified transport and carbon sequestration.
Join us for the IGCC November member meeting for further insights on investor drivers and major trends on investing for net zero emissions as we unpack the key findings of these two important works of research.
We will hear from Nicole Bradford, Portfolio Head, Responsible Investment at Cbus and current Chair of the Transition to Net Zero Working Group, on the recently published IGCC 2020 Net Zero Investment Survey and report. Erwin Jackson, Director, Policy at the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) and current Chair of the Policy and Advocacy Working Group, will provide an update on Investment opportunities and mapping Australia’s net zero investment potential.
