Investor Practice Working Group

The working group develops investors’ abilities to facilitate the transition to a net zero emissions economy.

We work closely with global investor networks, bringing the latest international developments to the working group sessions.

The group also provides;
  • access to local and international experts;
  • a forum to keep updating the Net Zero Investment Framework;
  • opportunity for peer-to-peer learning and knowledge sharing; and
  • the latest technical guidance on aligning portfolios to net zero.

The 2025 Working Group series will explore key aspects of investor climate transition planning assisting investors to develop effective net zero strategies that enhance and support their climate and transition plan disclosures.

Practical Outcomes

The Investor Practice Working group helps members take practical steps to implement net zero investment practices.

In calendar 2023, working group sessions coincide with updates to the guideline documents associated with the Net Zero Investment Framework (NZIF). Each session will be focussed on a different asset class or piece of guidance.

The following asset classes and guidance are covered in 2023:
  • Infrastructure
  • Climate Solutions
  • Private Equity
  • Real Estate
  • Sovereign Debt
Sessions include:
  • an outline of relevant guideline material to assist investors to develop asset class-level net zero strategies;
  • a discussion of implementation processes (usually led by an international speaker); and
  • local case studies.

Recordings of sessions are available to IGCC members.
