Session Overview:
Institutional investors are facing escalating physical climate risks that threaten asset values, disrupt supply chains, and erode long‑term portfolio performance. At the same time, community expectations around climate action are shifting. Adaptation measures that are not fair and equitable increasingly face resistance, delays, or failure, resulting in higher losses for investors and the broader economy.
To support IGCC members in navigating this emerging challenge, we invite you to a spotlight workshop on how investors can integrate just adaptation into their strategies and stewardship to improve the resilience of their portfolios to physical climate risks.
This session has two key aims:
1. Gather feedback on IGCC’s draft “Introduction to Just Adaptation”
IGCC has drafted a report which introduces the concept and relevance of just adaptation for investors. In the workshop, we will walk through the draft document and seek your reflections on:
- The clarity and usefulness of the framing
- Proposed investor actions
- Gaps, risks, or opportunities we should address
2. Brainstorm IGCC’s future work program on just adaptation
- Priority research or guidance to support investor decision‑making
- Member capacity‑building needs
- How just adaptation intersects with existing IGCC initiatives
