IGCC’s 2030 Strategy: A Clear Plan For This Decade
19 February 2026
The Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) has released its Strategy to 2030. It sets out how we will help accelerate progress toward a climate-resilient economy that is on track, by 2030, for net zero emissions in 2050.
The Alignment of Investors’ Fiduciary Duties, Economic Growth, and Climate Action
Climate-related disruption and the transition to net zero are material investment factors. For institutional investors, managing these growing risks and opportunities is not optional – it is part of their fiduciary duty.
Investors have agency beyond capital allocation. They can influence companies decision-makers and public policy. When aligned effectively, fiduciary responsibility, economic growth and climate action reinforce one another – supporting long-term value creation and stability in a net zero, climate resilient economy.
IGCC exists to help investors use that influence credibly and effectively. Our work is evidence-driven and underpinned by science, economics, and a practical theory of change that connect capital, policy and practice.
Our 2030 Focus Areas:
- accelerating the energy transition
- driving down emissions in the real economy
- addressing physical climate risk impacts
- driving investment in climate solutions
- supporting regional decarbonisation.
How We Will Deliver Impact (Our “Strategic Levers”):
- enabling and encouraging investors to fulfil their fiduciary responsibilities with respect to climate
