Media Release: Is Climate Rising or Falling on the Investment Agenda? IGCC Summit Puts It to Investors

26 October 2026
The Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) has today released the program for its 2026 Summit, A New Investment Reality, taking place on 24 and 25 November at Ilumina, Sydney. Tickets are on sale now.

26 October 2026 – At this year’s IGCC Summit, senior executives from Australia’s most important financial institutions will tackle 2026’s new investment reality: how to deliver strong returns amidst the Iran War’s energy shock, trade wars, and a rising Asia, all deeply interlinked with climate risks and opportunities.

Senior executives, including leaders from AustralianSuper, Australian Retirement Trust, and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, will test key ideas.

Is climate is losing ground, crowded out by competing priorities, policy reversals and short-term market pressure? Do those massive disruptions make climate more important than ever, intrinsic to energy security and the most significant infrastructure opportunity of the decade?

Those questions are reaching a wider audience inside funds. Chief investment officers from five major funds are speaking this year, alongside portfolio managers and investment directors, and the responsible investment teams who have historically led climate work.

IGCC’s CEO Rebecca Mikula-Wright says:

“Our members are managing an energy shock, trade wars and a fast-changing Asia all at once. Climate runs straight through it.

The hard part is telling what has structurally changed from what is noise, and acting on it with conviction. That is what the program is built for. A decade ago this was a conversation with the responsible investment team. Now it’s also a conversation with whoever owns the returns.”

Asia–Pacific sessions developed with AIGCC

The Asia–Pacific will drive most of the growth in global energy demand this decade. Sessions on the region have been developed with IGCC’s Asian network, the Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC). Together, IGCC and AIGCC represent more than 180 members managing approximately US$46 trillion globally.

Two sessions address the region directly: what emerging Asia means for Australian portfolios, and what is enabling Australian capital to flow there at scale.

The program features a keynote by Mr. Daryl Ho, Executive Director (External) at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, offering a central bank perspective from one of Asia’s leading financial centres.

Confirmed speakers include:

Daryl Ho, Executive Director (External), Hong Kong Monetary Authority
