Richard Proudlove

Director, Corporate Engagement

Richard leads IGCC’s work to drive climate progress in the corporate sector, a crucial element of transitioning to a sustainable, low carbon economy. This includes facilitation of the Climate Action 100+ global investor engagement initiative within the Australia and New Zealand region. Richard sits on the initiative’s global steering committee.

He previously worked within KPMG’s Climate Change and Sustainability team, advising companies on their climate commitments and transition strategies. He also ran ClimateWorks Centre’s Net Zero Momentum Tracker, a research and engagement campaign scrutinising the climate commitments of Australia’s largest organisations across key sectors of the economy.

His involvement in climate change and decarbonisation developed from an earlier career providing engineering and technology services to asset intensive industries.

Richard studied engineering and manufacturing at both Durham University and the University of Cambridge in the UK, has a Master of Environment (Climate Change) from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
