We help build our members’ capacity to;
integrate climate risk and opportunities in their investment processes, and
manage their portfolios in line with net zero.
Through working groups, resources, and masterclasses we provide a forum to share experiences, and access to international experts, peer learning, and the latest technical guidance.
Our approach and tools mainly draw on the Net Zero Investment Framework (NZIF) – a globally recognised and widely used methodology by and for investors who have made a net zero commitment .
The team works with IGCC members on implementing net zero commitments and translating those into leading climate-related practices.

Climate Solutions Subworking Group
Chairs: Mike Harut (Munro Partners), Allison van Lint (Cbus)
Fosters practical discussions among investors to enhance investment in climate solutions. The group supports members to improve understanding and practices related to climate investment, facilitating knowledge-sharing within the investor community
Real Assets Subworking Group
Chairs: Rick Walters (Aware Super) and Andrew Sellick (QIC)
The group aims to enhance investors’ understanding and capabilities regarding decarbonisation efforts and the management of physical climate risks associated with real assets (real estate and infrastructure). This group focuses on applying and contributing to the development of specific frameworks and guidance, namely the Net Zero Investment Framework (NZIF 2.0) and the Physical Climate Risk Assessment Methodology (PCRAM).
Annual State of Net Zero Survey
Our annual State of Net Zero Survey identifies how Australian and New Zealand institutional investors are acting on climate risk and opportunities. It also sheds light on the barriers and challenges that are preventing faster progress.
The Australian 2025 report:

34%
Investors with 2030 decarbonisation milestone targets.
8%

Each year investors are making more progress, but we know that acceleration is crucial for meeting climate goals, and serving their beneficiaries.
The good news is that there are now excellent tools and collaborative initiatives that investors can and must use to move faster than ever before.
Helping investors set and reach 2030 milestones is core to IGCC’s work, as is building resilience to the physical risks from climate change.

Global Climate Investment Initiatives
The Investor Group on Climate Change is the exclusive secretariat in Oceania for the Net Zero Asset Managers (NZAM) initiative and Paris Aligned Asset Owners (PAAO) initiative, the two leading global investor-led efforts to bring about a net zero future.

Submission: CCA Evidence Platform to Support Investors on Progress to Net Zero
Submission | Bethany Richards (IGCC), Dr Kate Simmonds (IGCC), Nayanisha Samarakoon (RIAA) and Tori Huggins (RIAA). | 30 April 2026
While the government’s sector decarbonisation plans and National Adaptation Plan and National Climate Risk Assessment are positive steps towards a resilient, net-zero economy, they have been less useful in identifying how much and when climate-aligned investment is required. These documents lack short- and medium-term decarbonisation and adaptation goals and milestones, and don’t provide investment roadmaps across key sectors.
